When using pins to hold hand appliqué projects in place, silk pins work best. They are thin and don't distort the piece, plus holes are very tiny. Pin piece in place from the front, then flip it over and -

pin it from the background. Remove the front pin; this saves thread from getting caught repeatedly while you hand stitch the appliqué in place.

How do you store your fabric stash?


Save empty metal tins from throat lozenges or mints. Use these tins to store extra pins, buttons, snaps, eyelets, etc...
