Prepared Backing

If you need to buy fabric yardage for a backing, try this simple tip. Instead of buying fabric in one long length, ask that it be cut in half or thirds. By doing this, it is much easier to wash, dry and iron -

smaller cuts than it is do this with one long length because it doesn't tangle and get as wrinkled in the washing machine and dryer, and it is ready to piece without having to handle a large piece of fabric and trying to cut it accurately.



Next time you need to purchase fabric for a quilt backing, consider a fabric with a design that would allow you to quilt it from the back, creating a unique design on the front of your quilt
