Smoothing it Out

When machine quilting, oftentimes a large quilt may get slightly distorted with all of the handling. If your fabrics are all cotton, you can block your quilt back into shape; wash your quilt in your washing machine on gentle cycle, then lay down a white cotton sheet on the floor. wet, place it on the sheet and 'block' it into place. Use your hands to manipulate and stretch it into place. Check frequently while it is drying and repeat the manipulating if necessary. If you have 'bubbles' in areas where it's not heavily quilted, use an iron and gently press the bubble out.



Look at the bright side. And if that doesn't work, flip the fabric over and use the other side.
