Applying borders to quilts isn't difficult, but sometimes things seem to get a bit distorted in the process. When cutting outer borders for quilts, cut the fabric a little wider, not longer, than your desired width. Often once borders are applied, and -

especially once the quilt is quilted, the borders tend to shift a bit. If you have extra width on them, it is much easier to 'square up' the borders and trim off the excess instead of squaring it up and finding the borders look rather uneven. Stop in again to learn more tips.
