Do you find that your back aches when you are cutting at your cutting table? It's most likely too short for you. If you're using a banquet table for cutting fabrics, chances are, it's too low for your comfort. Drive on over to your local hardware store and purchase some-Continued to the right...
...Continued from left pvc pipes. Have somebody cut four pieces large enough to slip under the legs of the table and raise it to the height you need. Purchase an inexpensive mat for you to stand on also to reduce fatigue.
A past president of my local quilt guild came up with this wonerful idea! It's called a Sharing Table. Members are encouraged to bring in quilt magazines, quilt books, patterns, fabrics, etc... that they no longer use or want and put them on the table before our meetings start. Anybody can take them, they're for free. Other items have found their way on that table as well, and whether you're bringing stuff in or taking it out (or both), everybody wins!
